Kill Creepy Robocalls with Google Pixel Phones
Full disclosure: I bought a Pixel 3 this week and it’s freaking amazing. Now that we got that out of the way, we can talk about one of its coolest features: robocall killing. Google Assistant now has an AI-powered feature that will answer suspected robocalls for you, “talk” to the robo-jerk-caller to make sure it’s not a legit call, then unceremoniously annihilate their annoying bot-butts by hanging up, reporting the number as spam, and blocking the number from calling your phone ever again. This is a good first step toward a full exorcism of spam calls, but we still have a long way to go until we shake that demon for good.
Stopping Scary Affiliate Fraud
Affiliate marketing is a great way to bring performance marketers and affiliates together to drive more traffic and conversions for brand campaigns. While many brands and performance agencies enjoy successful and mutually beneficial relationships, the history of affiliate fraud has scared off some brands and left the industry with an aura of distrust. The darkest days of affiliate fraud are behind us, but to banish it for good, we must actively work to detect, fight, and prevent it.
Google + Disappears in the Night
I’ll keep this as short as the list of people who used Google +: It’s about damn time. A data hack scared away the last six users on the neglected social platform and Google made the decision to mercifully snuff it out. Luckily, we won’t have to worry about anyone resurrecting this one.
Here’s to a fun and safe Halloween from everyone at Invoca!
